I thought it would be a neat idea to have a thread where we could talk about our currently in-process draft (And maybe give a little boost to activity too). Any thoughts about rookies, picks already made or predictions for the future would be welcome.
For my part I'm surprised Sankey took so long to go, given that he is the only projected day 1 starter. Regardless of how you feel about his talent, he is likely to make an impact straight away, probably the only sure offensive player to do so. I would have thought Dallas might have taken him given they currently have no starting RBs (though they can't be blamed for that).
I thought Clowney went higher than he should have, though given the way the scoring system rewards sacks that might be a decent pick after all. Unsurprisingly Evans and Watkins went quickly, and WRs like Cooks and Beckham Jr. will likely follow.
The other interesting thing for me is when the QBs will get taken. Will teams like Minnesota or Jacksonville grab their associated player (like Cleveland did) to ensure that they have a starting QB for the season, or will some other teams take a chance on them?

So far it all makes sense to me except for Mack at 5. Especially when the 'Boys already auto-picked Clowney at 2. I was surprised Mack want as high as he did in the real draft let alone a fantasy one...

Yeah gotta admit that puzzled me, especially given the Cowboys had traded their two of their best offensive players, and could have used help on that side. OLBs aren't exactly the most precious fantasy commodity (ILBs are usually better), but we are rewarding sacks at a high rate than most leagues, which is a point in Macks favour, provided he lives up to the hype as a great pass rusher.

Sankey was the steal of the draft. a 1-2 combo of Charles and Sankey in a 30 teamer will be tough to beat

Made too much sense for me to draft Bridgewater. Although he might not start this season, I still think there's a solid chance that he is he Week 1 starter. Certainly don't want to rush him into the job, but he's smart enough to grasp the playbook by the start of the season.

Almost all good QBs gone. Will be interesting to see where the next two-three go.
I would say that was a good pick by you Tyler. No way Bridgewater would have fallen past 15 or so, imo.

Plus if he does end up the starter very early on in the season, and you didn't draft him, you would have no quarterback, which would since your chances of winning drastically. Good pick.
With Bortles also gone, the only quarterback with starting potential this year is Carr, I wonder who plans to snap him up, as I don't see him falling to the 2nd round for the Raiders.

Ive planned on him not falling to me, but if he does I'll snatch him. I honestly do not see him starting his year though as the raiders have publicly praised Schaub as a "top 10" QB.

My debate at #1 was Sankey or Watkins. Watkins will almost certainly be the #1 option in Buffalo. I'm just not sold on the FSU dude who throws him the ball. I was going to try and trade back into the first for Sankey, but no takers.
As much as I need a QB in Houston, I didn't like any of the options in the draft, as far as competing in 2014.
As a Packers fan, I love Minnesota taking Bridgewater, I think he's JaMarcus Russell v2.0 (10 more years of division championships in Green Bay!)

Bridgewater is so much like Jamarcus Russell, their resemblance is uncanny...
They both have major character issues and don't work hard enough to make the next step. They both aren't humble. Cocky bastards. They are both lazy and unable to demonstrate the work ethic or football IQ to succeed in the NFL.
They both were paid too much money in their rookie deals.
They both had excellent pro days that allowed their draft stock to reach it's peak.
They both put on a ton of weight from their last college game to the rookie camp.
Oh and I can't forget this one:
They both love themselves some of that sweet Purple Drank!

Yeah, I think it was bound to happen sooner or later, I was considering Carr myself. Now Tom Savage is likely the next QB off the board...
